Q. I don't have a website, how can I use VMM?
A. A fully featured, custom designed website is all part of the VMM package. The amount of input you wish to put into the design process depends on you. We can do the whole thing, taking only a few minutes of your time or you can specify your requirements in great detail. The choice is yours.

Q. How does VMM handle slots and holidays?
A. There are 2 types of slot in VMM.

Default slots: These are the normal slots set up for each day of the week. You can have totally different slots for each individual day and you can select the ones you wish to be available to internet customers.

Custom slots: These are special slots, that can be set for one or more days when you need to deviate from the default pattern (a tester on holiday for example).

Q. Can slots be changed?
A. Yes, slots can be changed at any time.

Q. What happens if my Internet connection fails during working hours?
A. Within a few moments of losing its connection, the website booking system closes down, VMM then falls back to offline mode and you carry working as normal. Once the connection is restored VMM will normally automatically reconnect, synchronise the bookings with the website database and reactivate the web site booking system.

Note: In normal circumstances the booking system will remain active when you close down your computer(s) at the end of the day.

Q. Are double bookings possible?
A. VMM has several inbuilt safeguards to prevent double bookings so the chances of this happening are extremely unlikely.

Q. How are test fees handled by VMM?
A. Test fees can be defined as follows:
1) Full test fee, retest fee and trade fee for bookings taken by phone or over the counter.
2) Full test fee, retest fee and trade fee for bookings taken via the internet. These can all be set individually for each test class you offer and you can also set a different fee on any individual booking.

Q. Can I use VMM on more than one computer?
A. Yes, as long as the computers are connected to the same local network, you can do this. One computer will be set as the VMM server, which will connect to our system, and the other pc(s) will be set as clients to the VMM server. Once the required permissions are set on the network, and any firewalls are configured correctly, you will have nearly all VMM functionality on all computers.

Q. What happens if my computer goes wrong and I lose my VMM data?
A. Once you have rectified the problem that caused the problem, VMM can be reinstalled on the machine and all your data can be restored from our web servers in just a few minutes.

Q. Can I purchase VMM outright?
A. Unfortunately we are unable to offer VMM as an outright purchase because it requires an expensive server infrastructure and support staff to enable us to operate it. This generates a significant ongoing cost for us which is covered by the annual subscriptions.

Q. How do I get VMM?
A. Simply phone 01934 612386 and we'll take it from there. We have had stations up and running in less than a week and under two hour of their time. Once you are ready to go live we'll talk you through installation and teach you how to use the software on the phone. This whole process takes around one hour and can be arranged out of hours. If we experience any difficulties during setup, we have a remote assistance facility that will allow you to connect to our help desk. This will give our technician direct access to your system so that in the unlikely event of a problem, we will be able to reach a swift resolution.
